The mcx lower hasn't changed much (minus some different buffers and the swap from the plunger style upper tensioner and the bolt catch on the LT) between mcx gens. I've run legacy, virtus and rattler uppers on the same mcx lower and a hybrid conversion lowers with no problems.On my wish-list is a 5.56 MCX Virtus Pistol with an 11.5 inch barrel. I have seen them on Gun Broker for about $3,000-$3,500. That is slightly out of reach for me. The 180S short upper is coming out soon and it is significantly less expensive than any of the MCX uppers, and they seem to be the two most viable options for an AR15 that can fire with the stock folded. The MCX's relocated charging handle adds a bit more material to the top of the receiver.
