For the rest of the settings I don't have a specific preference, maybe increase melee spawn.In my playthroughs, I try to save a group of them & have them wander around my base performing basic tasks, like putting all the corpses in a pile. They can be a bit buggy though. If left off screen for a while, a npc can decimate a large amount of zombies. The AI of the survivors can be rough around the edges when it comes to defending themselves against zombies or chatting to each other but they are definitely able to help a lot around your base and make the world feel more alive (lol). The mod author has put a lot of work into the survivors code and it shows. Superb survivors - Survivors won't hit zombies. As explained in the title, I found about 4 survivors in the middle of ravens creek. I managed to get all of them to join my group but a horde of zombies had encircled us. I handed them a weapon each but they just stood there and got eaten while I ran away to try drag them with me.

Otherwise the best way I found is just driving around looking for some people wildly fleeing zombies or having a shootout like madmen.
